A minister’s daughter who followed all the rules raises a son who breaks every rule she ever gave him.
A minister's daughter who followed all the rules raises a son who breaks every rule she ever gave him. Growing up the child of a Baptist minister, Krista learns that fitting in and following the rules is easier than rocking the boat, and keeping everyone around her happy is worth paying the price. When she becomes a mother, life is exactly what she always wanted and she raises Taylor inside the same traditions that shaped her. At first, Taylor's rebellion against those traditions seems like a typical teenage phase. But when the rebellion becomes an addiction that nearly kills him, she spends a long night with her son's head in her lap, praying over a tangible darkness in the room. When Taylor finally tells her he is gay, and building a life as a professional wrestler, nothing in her church has prepared her for either. It's her son who teaches her what she thought she already knew: love covers a multitude of sins, and sometimes there is a cost.
